*NOTE: Summary lifted from back cover of the book.
When I first picked this up, I hoped that it would contain more romance than farming. Well, I regret to inform you guys that that was not the case, for the book was certainly more (almost entirely) about farming than anything else, with a little bit of romance sprinkled in (
if it can even be called that). I would say I was disappointed at the lack of romance, but the thing is (for the first time in my life), I wasn’t. And while we’re on the topic of firsts, may I just say that this is also the first time in my life that I enjoyed a NON-FICTION book. Yep, you read that right.
The story itself was…interesting, to say the least, and beautifully written. Kind of straight to the point but still a little bit magical and fairy tail-ly, if that makes any sense. HAHA! It’s also written in the first person so you can sort of live vicariously through her writing. And because the story was written in the first person, you also get the peace of mind and tranquility she discovers at the end of the book, which is nice and is, coincidentally, my favorite part of the story. :)
